Carlisle boss Greg Abbott has rejected reports defender Tony Kane has been placed on the transfer list.
Kane, 22, who signed a two-year deal last summer after an initial loan spell from Blackburn, has made only four league appearances for the Cumbrians this season.
Abbott told the club's official website: "Tony has not been placed on the transfer list at all.
"He's our player and we have never said otherwise.
"What we can say though is that if anyone was to make an offer of regular football for Tony, then we would have to talk to him about it and consider the situation, but that's the same for every player that we have at the club.
"There's a possibility that his representatives have put his name forward in an attempt to get him regular first-team football, but he has not been placed on any list by us."
