Oldham midfielder Danny Whitaker is one of six players who will not be offered a new contract at Boundary Park.
Whitaker joined the Latics from Port Vale in the summer of 2008 but his two-year deal has now expired.
Chris Rowney, Liam Dawson, Michael McKerr, Phil Ojapa and Rene Steer have also been told they will not be awarded new contracts.
