Defender go on holiday before making decision on new contract

Richard Keogh is taking time to consider his options before deciding whether to sign a new contract at Carlisle United. The 23-year-old, who swept the board at the club's player of the year awards, is out of contract this summer and has been linked with Hibernian. He has been offered a deal to stay at Brunton Park and Keogh will give Carlisle a response upon his return from holiday. Keogh said: "After talks with the manager and an offer from the club for me to re-sign, the manager has given me some time to think it over. "I will be taking a holiday and will consider my options with regards to my future. "I've had an excellent spell at Carlisle and find it very difficult to think of playing football elsewhere. "I'm grateful to the manager for the time he's giving me to make a decision and thank everyone for the continuing support."
