Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott is looking to finalise the futures of his out-of-contract players shortly. The likes of Danny Livesey, Richard Keogh and Joe Anyinsah are all out of contract this summer, along with star defender Ian Harte. The club are believed to have offered the players new terms and Abbott hopes to be able to reveal some news in the coming week. "There should be something this week," he told the News & Star. "We are getting to the stage where we have to have answers one way or the other. "The players have been given a massive amount of respect and time."

Abbott is crossing his fingers that Harte will stay on, with the ex-Leeds man linked with moves away from Brunton Park following an astonishing goalscoring campaign. "There is always speculation in terms of players in and out, but that's all it is," he continued. "The conversations we have had with Ian have all suggested that he is delighted to be here. "He had a tough year before he came, but he is enjoying his football now."
