Icelander launches attack against under-fire boss

Burnley midfielder Joey Gudjonsson claims Brian Laws has lost the dressing room at Turf Moor. Laws's future has the subject of intense speculation in recent days following the humiliating 6-1 home defeat to Manchester City last weekend. Burnley have lost 11 of their 13 Premier League games since Laws was appointed in January and they are second bottom in the table, four points from safety with five games to play. There have been rumours of unrest in the Burnley camp, but Laws quickly nipped the suggestions in the bud. However, Gudjonsson, who has been frozen out of things under Laws, says the players have lost faith in the manager. "He lost the dressing room long ago," Gudjonsson told Icelandic website fotbolti.net. "I think all the players have lost faith in him, the performances say all that has to be said." Burnley were forced to fine midfielder Kevin McDonald after he left Turf Moor without permission at half-time in Saturday's 6-1 defeat to Manchester City, while Robbie Blake is reported to have had a bust-up with Laws after allegedly reacting badly to being substituted at half-time against City. Gudjonsson feels these incidents prove Laws has lost the support of the players. "This shows that the guys do not believe in what he is doing," added Gudjonsson. "This just not seems to work out."
