Gills boss confident over injured striker

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson is confident Simeon Jackson will soon be back in action to help the club's battle for survival. Jackson, who has 14 league goals to his name this season, aggravated a niggling hamstring injury against Charlton and missed Saturday's 2-2 draw against MK Dons as a precaution. "We have a lot of games coming up and we knew what the weather forecast was (at the weekend)," Stimson told KentOnline. "On a wet heavy pitch, it might have made it worse so we thought leave him out completely and hopefully this time next weekend he is back involved. "The rest would have done him the world of good because he hasn't trained or done anything. "This week I'm sure he will start slowly and build up towards the end of the week."
