Defender admits away form has led to relegation battle

Neil Austin has urged Hartlepool United to 'fight for their lives' as the club look to stave off the threat of relegation. Pools are currently two points outside the drop zone with nine games to play and face several of their relegation rivals in the coming weeks. Chris Turner's side have not won away from home since October and Austin acknowledged that is the reason Pools are battling to beat the drop. Austin told the Hartlepool Mail: "It's easy saying the last nine games are easy on paper. But we're down there for a reason. "We've got to put it right. We've got to fight for our lives now. "I think our situation has been sinking in for a while. We've been dragged into it. "Our form away from home has not been good enough and that's the reason we've been dragged down there."
