Veteran striker signs new four-month contract with Bees

Veteran striker Carl Cort has signed a new four-month contract with Brentford which will keep him with the Bees until the end of the season. The much travelled hit-man, who counts Wimbledon, Newcastle and Wolves among his former clubs, has scored four goals in 16 appearances for the League One outfit this season. Brentford boss Andy Scott is delighted that Cort has agreed to stay on and try and fire the mid-table Bees into the play-off places. He told the club's official website: "I am very keen to try and keep this squad together as a unit for the remainder of the campaign and I am therefore delighted that Carl has agreed to stay as he continues to have a significant part to play for the rest of the season."
