Orient defender attracting plenty of interest

Skysports.com understands Millwall have lodged a bid for Leyton Orient defender Tamika Mkandawire. Having established himself as one of the lower division's classiest stoppers over the past couple of years, Mkandawire is attracting attention from higher up the football pyramid. Championship duo Swansea and Watford are known to be monitoring the 26-year-old's situation but it is Millwall that have tabled an offer. Millwall boss Kenny Jackett is keen to bolster his backline ahead of a promotion push next term and it is Mkandawire seemingly at the top of his wish-list. Jackett's desire for additions has only increased with the news influential centre-half Zak Whitbread has been placed on the transfer list after rejecting contract talks. Leyton Orient would be loath to lose Mkandawire but it looks as though they have a battle on their hands to keep him at the Matchroom Stadium.
