Striker could be feature against Darlington

Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy is aiming to extend the loan deal of Carlisle United striker Danny Carlton. Since rejoining the Shrimps last month, Carlton has made five appearances and McIlroy wants to hang on to the 24-year-old. Carlton could then be available for Saturday's game against Darlington as McIlroy seeks a response following a 1-0 defeat at Notts County. "I am hoping to extend the loan, we will see what is happening from the Carlisle end," McIlroy told the Lakeland Echo. "We are against one of the top teams in Darlington on Saturday and we have got to be prepared for them. "We have got to get last week out of our minds now. We have got to move on and the players owe themselves a performance on Saturday. "We can't afford to go out and play like we did against Notts County."
