Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll is hoping Shelton Martis can return to the club in the near future.
The 26-year-old defender has recently been on loan at Rovers from Premier League outfit West Brom, before seeing his time at the Keepmoat Stadium cruelly cut short by injury.
The Netherlands Antilles international had helped to stabilise Rovers' Championship plight, and scored the winner in a much-needed home victory over Ipswich on 15th November.
However, he tore a hamstring against Watford last weekend and has been forced to head back to the Hawthorns for treatment.
It may not be the last Doncaster see of Martis though as O'Driscoll has admitted that he will attempt to resign the centre-half once he is back to full fitness.
Rehab
"Shelton tore his hamstring against Watford and he is going to be a minimum of two months out as it is quite a nasty one," Rovers' boss told the club's
official website.
"We spoke to West Brom and it is unfortunate for all parties concerned.
"We will be keeping in touch with Shelton through his rehab and when he gets back to fitness, he has done well enough for us to be interested - should West Brom still want to let him out on loan.
"I'd definitely want to bring him back in on loan."
