Brentford are poised to sign former Reading defender John Halls, skysports.com understands.
The 26-year-old former Arsenal trainee is available on a free transfer after being released by the Royals over the summer.
The full-back had trials at Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday earlier this summer, but a move failed to materialise.
Halls has been training with Brentford for the last few weeks and he is believed to have impressed Bees boss Andy Scott.
Scott is now ready to offer Halls a deal at Griffin Park as he looks to bolster his options for the rest of the season.
