Teenage striker agrees one-month loan move

Tranmere Rovers striker Terry Gornell has joined Accrington Stanley on a one-month loan deal in order to gain first-team experience. The 18-year-old signed his first professional contract at Prenton Park this summer and has featured for Rovers in the Carling Cup this season. However, boss Ronnie Moore recognises Gornell is unlikely to become a fixture in his immediate plans and has allowed the forward to join League Two outfit Accrington. "We are strong in the striker department with Bas Savage, Chris Greenacre, Craig Curran, Ian Moore, Edrissa Sonko and Chris Shuker all playing in attacking roles in recent weeks," Moore told Tranmere's official website. "Terry is a talented youngster and at this stage of his career he will benefit more from playing first-team football on loan than he will from playing in our reserves. "He will benefit from a month at Accrington and hopefully will come back and push for a place in the team here."
