Gilbert becomes Leicester's fifth summer signing

Leicester City have completed the noticeable capture of Kerrea Gilbert on a season-long loan from Arsenal. The promising 21-year-old defender has previously accrued experience of first team football while on similar loan spells at Cardiff City and Southend. Gilbert, who has worked with Foxes boss Nigel Pearson before at England youth level, is delighted to become the club's fifth summer signing and be reunited with his former taskmaster. "I have worked with the gaffer before at England Youth level and have got nothing but praise for him," he told the club's official website. "He is always prepared to give you a chance and I am determined not to let him down. I also know Levi Porter and he has been impressed with the work ethic the new manager has brought to the club. "I am excited to be here. The facilities are of Premier League quality and I am keen to get started and help Leicester City bounce back to the Championship at the first time of asking."

Winner

Pearson is confident he has landed a player with the type of pedigree that can aid Leicester's bid for an immediate return to the Championship next season. "I have worked with Kerrea before and he is a fighter and a winner. "He is strong in the tackle and athletic and we will only benefit from his arrival. "I am looking forward to working with him on the training ground."
