Keeper pens two-year deal

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has completed his first summer signing with the capture of Stevenage goalkeeper Alan Julian. Julian, 25, has penned a two-year deal at Priestfield and becomes the fifth player to follow Stimson to Priestfield from Boro, with Adam Miller, John Nutter, Barry Fuller and Stuart Lewis all joining last season after Stimson took over in November. The former Northern Ireland Under-21 international will provide competition to player of the year Simon Royce after the retirement of Derek Stillie earlier this month. Millwall and Southampton were also thought to be interested in the former Brentford shot-stopper, but he has chosen to link up with his former manager.
