Millwall strengthen after midfield shortage

Millwall have signed Blackburn Rovers midfielder Bryan Hodge on loan, and recalled Ben May from his loan spell at Scunthorpe. The Lions are struggling for midfield options at present, with a number of players sidelined with injury. Hodge, who had a loan spell with Mansfield last season, operates on the left side of midfield and has gone straight into the squad to face Hartlepool United. Caretaker assistant manager Colin West confirmed the club's dilemma, and explained that recalling May was a must.

Missing

"We've got a whole midfield plus one missing at the moment, with Danny Spiller, Dave Brammer, Ryan Smith and Chris Hackett all recovering from operations while Tom Brighton is still battling for fitness," he told the club's official website. "We were able to sign Ahmet Brkovic on loan from Luton last week which has helped, but we still have no midfield cover at the moment. "The squad is looking very thin from back to front really, with a handful of other players having treatment this week, so we have recalled Ben as well because we need all the bodies we can get."
