Cherries allowed to field foursome

Bournemouth have received clearance to play their four loan signings in the League Cup on Tuesday night. The Cherries face West Brom at The Hawthorns and they will be able to field their most recent additions Max Gradel and Garreth O'Connor, along with Jean Christophe and Asmir Begovic, after being given permission by the foursome's parent clubs. Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond will be especially pleased to be able to call on the services of Gradel, who recently joined the club from Leicester on a one-month loan, after the midfielder impressed in the Cherries' 0-0 League One opener with Nottingham Forest on Saturday. O'Connor, meanwhile, has returned to Bournemouth for a second spell, after moving on a two-month loan from Burnley, having already played for the Cherries between 2000 and 2005. The Irish midfielder will add League Cup experience to Bond's squad after netting their first goal in the 3-3 draw with Blackburn in the same competition in 2004, which the Cherries went on to win penalties. Jason Pearce is also likely to feature against the Baggies after completing a free transfer from Portsmouth. The 19-year-old defender, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Woking, has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with the Cherries.
