Brass happy with Crowe arrival

YORK CITY boss Chris Brass is confident new loan signing Dean Crowe will help bolster his front-line.

Crowe was signed on a month's loan from Luton on Friday, and Brass is looking for the powerful forward to help keep The Minstermen in the promotion hunt.

"He will fit into how we are playing," Brass said of the former Stoke man.

"He is very strong and holds the ball up well and has a lot of pace.

"He is positive and gives us competition for places, which we need.

"He is here for a month and we will see how it goes."

Crowe may not be the only striking addition at York, as Brass has opted to extend the trial of Gary Browne by another fortnight.

The former Manchester City man has been training with York since the end of August, taking part in a number of reserve encounters, but Brass wants extra time to decide on the forward's fate.

"He has got something but he is not yet fit enough," said Brass. "The next two weeks will enable him to get fitter and we can continue to monitor his progress."
