Midfielder Tommy Doherty has left Wycombe by mutual agreement over a long-running feud with boss Gary Waddock.
The former Northern Ireland international has had his contract terminated after being unsettled under Waddock, who took over at the club in October.
The dispute dates back to the pair's days at Queens Park Rangers for which Doherty holds a grudge against Waddock over his bitter exit from Loftus Road.
"Tom told us that he doesn't want to play for Gary because of a dispute they had when they were together at QPR a few years ago," owner Steve Hayes confirmed on the club's
official website.
"Tom wasn't happy when we appointed Gary in October and told us so at the time."
Waddock, a former Republic of Ireland international, insists he is innocent in the difference of opinion, but could not win over the 30-year-old who now becomes a free agent.
Waddock said: "He's a quality footballer and I have the greatest respect for him.
"I picked him whenever he was fit and I regarded him as a very valuable player but he blames me for the way he left QPR even though I told him it was the club's decision - not mine."
Meanwhile, Kevin Betsy has returned to Adams Park after impressing while on loan, signing a six-month deal on a free transfer from Southend.
