Barnet have completed the double signing of Paul Furlong and Tommy Black as they bid to climb the League Two table.
Barnet boss Ian Hendon has brought the duo to Underhill Stadium as his first signings since succeeding Paul Fairclough.
Furlong, 40, who has commanded more than £4million in transfer fees, has joined on loan from League One Southend while Black - released by the Shrimpers at the end of last season - has signed a short-term contract.
Hendon told the club's official website: "I am very grateful to Southend manager Steve Tilson for his friendly gesture in facilitating the move.
"I have seen a lot of Paul and be brings the experience and know-how to the side I want.
"Tommy is grateful for the opportunity to join us and prove himself. This is a coup for the club to get a player like him.
"We have a very young side and these signings are being brought in because of their experience."
