Stimson impressed by Cullip and Maher

Mark Stimson is keen to secure Danny Cullip and Kevin Maher on long-term deals at Gillingham. Cullip is under contract at Priestfield until the end of the season, having joined the Gills in February after being released by Queens Park Rangers. Midfielder Maher is currently on loan from Southend United and has impressed Stimson during his time at the club. Stimson confirmed he wants to retain the duo as the Gillingham boss looks to plan for the League One strugglers' future. "Players like Kevin Maher I will go out of my way to get because if you actually see him train and his quality, it is a buffer we've got here," said Stimson. "He sees things that other players don't and we need players like him at this club. If we can get him to join us on a long-term basis then it will be fantastic. "With Danny Cullip, we are talking at the moment. We are not too far off, so it's players of that calibre that we want here."
