Davies and Bradbury quit U's

Southend have signed Oxford's Lee Bradbury while Craig Davies has joined Verona.

Southend United have completed the capture of Oxford United's Lee Bradbury while Craig Davies has also quit The Firoz Kassam Stadium for Verona.

The former Manchester City striker had been at loggerheads with U's boss Brian Talbot over the past month after claiming that the club would not honour the contract he had initially agreed with them when he joined from Walsall.

Having been frozen out of the first team by Talbot, Bradbury agreed a severance package with the club before heading to Roots Hall.

"I didn't want it to end like this," Bradbury told the Oxford Mail. "But nothing was going to change at Oxford and this is a great chance for me."

Meanwhile, Craig Davies has completed his on-off move to Italy. Serie B outfit Verona have agreed to stump up an initial fee of £85,000 for the fiery Welsh international, although that sum may increase to £100,000 depending on appearances.
