Leeds take on Charlton at Elland Road on Tuesday night. Neil Redfearn's side are looking for a first win in eight league games.

Leeds head coach Neil Redfearn is not sure what the rest of the season holds for the club following his first game in charge.

The 49-year-old launched his permanent managerial reign at Elland Road with defeat at Cardiff on Saturday and with a third of the season complete, Leeds sit four points above the relegation zone.

Redfearn is preparing for his first home game since replacing the sacked Darko Milanic at the weekend against his former club Charlton, with Leeds chasing their first win in eight league matches.

"It's difficult to see where we're going to be," Redfearn, who steered Leeds to three wins and a draw during his last spell as caretaker boss in September, told a press conference.

"We've got a lot of players, we've got a lot of young players, we've got a lot of players who we signed at the beginning of the season and there's been a lot of change.

Neil Redfearn's first game as the permanent Leeds manager ended in a 3-1 defeat as Cardiff continued their revival under Russell Slade.

"Like I said when I had my spell as caretaker, with the amount of change that's happened, it's going to be two steps forward and one step backwards for a while.

"I'm well aware of that, the people at the club are well aware of that and the supporters understand.

"But we want to go out and try to win every game, that is the most important thing and we proved in my last caretaker spell that we're capable of putting back-to-back wins together."

Asked if there would be comings and goings in his squad, Redfearn added: "Yes, I think so. That's a natural process.

"It's a big squad. We don't want to dilute it, we want to make it competitive and we want players competing for a place who genuinely feel they have a chance.

"So I would imagine some players will come in and some will go out."

Redfearn was in charge as caretaker boss for a fourth time when Leeds last won at home, against Huddersfield on September 20.
