Warnock looking to raise funds for his own transfer plans

Adam Clayton is one of 11 players told they can leave Leeds United this summer. The 23-year-old midfielder is one of six contracted players who have been placed on the transfer list, while a further five more have been told by manager Neil Warnock their contracts will not be renewed. Clayton, who has scored six goals in 46 appearances this season, was reportedly keen on securing a new contract at Elland Road after reiterating his desire to stay at the club just days ago. However, with 12 months remaining on his current deal, it is thought Warnock has reluctantly agreed to listen to offers for the player as he looks to raise funds for his own transfer plans this summer. Strikers Ramon Nunez and Billy Paynter, defenders Paul Connolly and Andy O'Brien, and goalkeeper Paul Rachubka are the other contracted players who have been placed on the transfer list. Alex Bruce, Lloyd Sam, Mikael Forsell, Danny Webber and Maik Taylor have been informed that their contracts will not be renewed and are free to leave the Championship club. Meanwhile, Ross McCormack, Tom Lees and Zac Thompson are set to be offered new contracts, while midfielder Michael Brown is mulling over a one-year extension to his current deal. Robert Snodgrass and Aidan White have already been offered new contracts and are in discussions with the club.
