Morris available for Leeds

Leeds United have revealed Jody Morris will be available for selection for this weekend's crunch clash with Bolton Wanderers.

The 24-year-old former Chelsea star has been charged with rape and it had been thought the midfielder would be omitted from Leeds' first team.

However, after careful consideration, the club have stated he will be available for Eddie Gray's first game in temporary charge for the visit of The Trotters.

"Leeds United are aware that Jody Morris has been charged with an offence and bailed by Leeds Magistrates' Court this morning," read the club statement.

"The club had a meeting with Jody Morris and his solicitor immediately after court. The player has reconfirmed his denial of the allegation.

"The club have considered carefully the employment position and have taken legal advice. In English law there is a presumption that a person is innocent until proven guilty.

"In these circumstances and as a responsible employer, the club feel that the proper course of action is to allow the player to resume his duties pending the conclusion of the legal proceedings.

"The club will continue to monitor the situation closely."
