Swans still top

YEOVIL TOWN, Doncaster Rovers and Kidderminster Harriers all failed to maintain their winning starts to the Third Division season as Swansea City still find themselves top of the table.

Yeovil travelled to Brisbane Road to face Leyton Orient but were beaten 2-0 by the East London club.

Lee Thorpe (pictured) scored inside five minutes for the hosts before Matthew Brazier made certain of the result with a goal 12 minutes from time.

Doncaster could only manage a 0-0 draw away to Lincoln at Sincil Bank, while Bury recorded their first win of the season with a 2-0 win over Kidderminster Harriers at Aggborough thanks to a goals from Chris Porter on 28 minutes and Gareth Seddon with just minutes to spare.

Rochdale clawed their way back to earn a creditable 2-2 draw against Cambridge United at Spotland.

Alex Revell and last season's top goal scorer Dave Kitson gave Cambridge a 2-0 lead to take them into the break.

Rochdale showed more spirit in the second half and scored through a penalty from striker Lee McEvilly on 67 minutes, but they were not helped by Chris Shuker's sending off just a minute later for violent conduct.

However, Paul Connor came up with the all important leveller ten minutes from time to earn a share of the spoils.

Bobby Gould's Cheltenham Town still find themselves without a win this season after throwing away a two goal lead to draw 3-3 at The Kingston Communications Stadium.

Stuart Elliot gave Hull the lead before Damien Spencer went on to score a stunning first half hat trick with goals on 33, 39 and 40 minutes.

Jason Price and Danny Allsopp's third of the season were enough to earn a share of the spoils much to the annoyance of The Robins.

Brian Law's Scunthorpe United men managed to earn a point against high flying Oxford United with a 1-1 draw at Glanford Park.

Andy Crosby opened the scoring for Oxford two minutes before half time from the penalty spot as he became the first U's player other than Steve Basham to score this season.

Veteran winger Peter Beagrie equalised for the home side on 63 minutes.

York City left The Alfred McAlpine Stadium with three points after a 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

York had Lee Bullock to thank for the win as his goal on 17 minutes proved to be decisive.

Macclesfield Town entertained Torquay United to a 1-1 draw at Moss Rose.

John Miles put the home side ahead with just eight minutes on the clock before Kevin Wills equalised ten minutes into the second half.

Bristol Rovers kept up their good start to the campaign thanks to a 2-0 win at Brunton Park against struggling Carlisle United.

A Wayne Carlisle first half double gave Ray Graydon's side a 2-0 lead which was enough to see them out as winners.

Mansfield Town kept up the impressive away day performances of the day with a 3-0 win against Southend United at Roots Hall.

Iyseden Christie bagged the second hat trick of the day which was enough to earn Mansfield their first league win of the season and confine The Shrimpers to their third consecutive defeat.
