Sky Sports understands that Barnsley boss Keith Hill was given reassurances about his future by club owner Patrick Cryne after he met with him for talks on Monday.
Both Hill and Flitcroft have emerged with huge credit in the past 12 months and their work has not gone unnoticed. Hill is said to be attracting attention from Blackburn Rovers, where he spent five years as a player, as they consider the future of their boss Steve Kean. Hill's number two Flitcroft has also turned down an approach from mangerless League One Bury as he committed his future to Barnsley.
