Portsmouth winger looking to move on from the past

Kelvin Etuhu has thanked Portsmouth for giving him the opportunity to revive his career at Fratton Park. The 23-year-old winger joined Pompey in January after training with the club for a couple of months, having been released by Manchester City last March following a jail term for assault. He has made a good early impression with the Championship side after performing well against Cardiff and Peterborough. Etuhu insists he is happy at Portsmouth and determined to go from strength to strength during the rest of the season.

Belonged

"There was never any question about me signing here - I had no doubt in my mind," he said in the official matchday magazine for Saturday's clash with Hull City. "I knew this was the club I wanted to play for - I felt like I belonged here. "I'm grateful for the chance. Playing football is a breath of fresh air for and with all the problems I've had it's great to get onto the pitch and take my mind off everything else. "This is a brilliant opportunity for me and allows me to put everything negative in the past."
