OSTER WALKS OUT OF OAKWELL

JOHN OSTER has walked out on First Division Barnsley after a training ground bust-up with caretaker boss Glynn Hodges.

The on-loan Sunderland ace walked out of Oakwell after being asked to train with the youngsters on Saturday and was promptly axed from the squad for Sunday's clash with West Brom.

Oster started two games for The Tykes during Nigel Spackman's last days in charge of the club, but was never handed the opportunity to play at Oakwell. Both his appearances were in away games at Burnley and Sheffield Wednesday.

His decision to quit Oakwell does free up one of the club's loan places and Hodges may move for a striker as he looks to solve the team's front-line problems.
