New Brighton boss Sami Hyypia is desperate to keep star striker Leonardo Ulloa at the Amex Stadium.

Argentinian hot-shot Ulloa, who scored 16 goals last season, is a target for Premier League newcomers Leicester.

But Brighton have so far resisted the Foxes' advances and Hyypia, who was unveiled as Seagulls manager on Thursday, hopes they continue to do so.

"I think for every club it's very important to keep hold of your best players," said the former Liverpool defender.

"I hope he will play here at least a year, but maybe even after that as well.

"I think he was an important player last season and we will need him as well to play well the next season."
