Foxes forward staying until 2015

Paul Gallagher has signed a new long-term contract with Leicester to stay at the Walkers Stadium until June 2015. The 26-year-old forward joined the Foxes from Blackburn in 2009 and has agreed a three-year extension to his existing contract which was due to expire at the end of next season. Gallagher has scored nine goals this term, helping Sven-Goran Eriksson's side up to ninth place in the Championship as they make a late surge for the play-offs. "It's great to know that my future is with Leicester City," he told the club's official website.

Ambition

"The ambition of the club and its new owners match my own and hopefully we can take a step towards that this season by reaching the play-offs. "The manager made it clear to me a while ago that he wanted me to be part of his plans. I've loved working for him so it's great to know that we'll be working together for some time yet." Eriksson added: "We are very happy to have agreed this new deal with Paul. "He is an important player for the club and whilst we believe that he is currently playing well, we are certain that he will improve and play a vital role in what we are trying to achieve here."
