Head coach Chris Ramsey spoke to Sky Sports in the wake of the 6-0 thrashing by Manchester City which saw QPR relegated

Sky Sports understands Queens Park Rangers head coach Chris Ramsey will get the job on a full-time basis, despite the club's relegation from the Premier League.

Rangers' demotion was confirmed after the 6-0 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday when Ramsey told Sky Sports after the game that he hoped to still be in charge next season.

Despite watching his side's worst defeat since October 2011, when asked by Sky Sports if he wanted to stay at Loftus Road, Ramsey replied: "Yes. I really do. It's a club that I've taken to my heart and I really want to be here."

The board are understood to have elected to stick with Ramsey, who took over after Harry Redknapp's sudden departure in February.

Ramsey was originally appointed as the Head of Player Development and Academy Manager at Loftus Road in November 2014 and oversaw two wins in his 13 matches in charge of the first team.
