A QPR spokesperson has confirmed the club have failed in their attempt to sign Henrique after the Brazilian was denied a work permit.

Brazilian denied work permit for 'various reasons'

A Queens Park Rangers spokesperson has confirmed the club have failed in their attempt to sign Henrique after the Brazilian was denied a work permit. The Under-20 international looked set for a move to Loftus Road in the wake of Mark Hughes' appointment as the club's new manager. Although QPR had reached agreement with Sao Paulo over a deal, it hinged on the 20-year-old being given the go-ahead to play in England. A work permit hearing was held on Monday when it was determined Henrique did not satisfy the required criteria. A QPR spokesperson said: "He didn't get a work permit for various reasons." Among those reasons were the fact the player still has limited experience in club football and because he has not yet made his debut for the senior Brazil team. The failure to secure Henrique comes as a setback to QPR on the same day as Sky Sports sources revealed they were on the verge of announcing the loan signing of AC Milan defender Taye Taiwo.
