Barnet have signed Gary Borrowdale on loan from QPR, who have cancelled Matteo Alberti's contract by mutual consent.

Premier League club also release Italian midfielder Alberti

Barnet have signed Gary Borrowdale on a month's loan from Queens Park Rangers, who have cancelled Matteo Alberti's contract by mutual consent. Borrowdale was not included in QPR's Premier League squad for the first half of this season after spending a spell on loan at Carlisle United last term. He has now headed out of Loftus Road on a temporary basis and will spend the next few weeks with League Two strugglers Barnet. The Bees have conceded 20 goals in 10 league matches this season and Borrowdale has been brought in to shore up their back-line ahead of Saturday's game against Northampton Town. Meanwhile, QPR have also confirmed that Italian midfielder Alberti's deal has been cancelled following over three years with the club. Alberti arrived from Chievo Verona in 2008, but has not appeared for QPR since making 14 appearances in his debut campaign and he spent last term on loan at AC Lumezzane.
