Davies rejects Verona

Oxford United striker Craig Davies has rejected the opportunity to move to Verona.

Oxford United striker Craig Davies has rejected the opportunity to move to Italian outfit Verona.

The talented 20-year-old had looked to have landed an exciting move to Serie B, with both clubs having concurred on a fee, but having spoken with Verona officials Davies has rejected the switch.

''I was really flattered and Verona are a great club but I just felt that it was the wrong move at the wrong time,'' Davies told the club's official website.

Meanwhile, Oxford boss Brian Talbot is to run the rule over Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adam Miller in a reserve game on Tuesday.

Whilst Miller attempts to win a move to the Kassam Stadium, Talbot has told two players that they are surplus to requirements.

Adam Griffin returns to Oldham after a loan spell, despite the fact his parent club would have allowed an extension, while defender Jude Stirling has been told he is free to leave having failed to make a significant impact since arriving in the summer.
