Manager has two names in mind as Bennett heads to Norwich

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson has two possible replacements in view as he prepares for life without Ryan Bennett. Bennett completed a switch to Premier League side Norwich City on transfer deadline day but has returned to the club temporarily on loan. The centre-back agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Canaries but due to the defensive shortages at London Road Bennett will remain with Ferguson's squad until the end of the month on an emergency loan. And with the England Under 21 international set to depart for Carrow Road shortly, manager Ferguson has his eye on two replacements for the back line.

Replacements

"I have two replacements for Ryan on my mind," he said. "One is an experienced player and the other is a younger footballer. "When the new one arrives will depend on which one I get." Despite lining up possible new recruits Ferguson has hailed Bennett for his recent performances as he believes they have not shown signs of a man who is on his way out of the club. "Ryan was outstanding again at Burnley on Saturday though so I don't see the newcomer playing until he has gone," he added. "Ryan still sees himself as a Posh player anyway. His commitment was excellent at Burnley as was the whole team's in pretty horrible conditions."
