Cherries boss delighted with on-loan youngster

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has heaped praise on departing defender Rhoys Wiggins. The on-loan Norwich City man is due to make his final appearance of a second emergency loan spell against Grimsby Town on Saturday. The 22-year-old has made ten League Two starts for The Cherries this season and Howe has been impressed with the youngster's consistency.

Proud

"He's done us proud," he told the Bournemouth Echo. "I know he was fit and had played a few reserve games, but he came in from the cold and performing week in, week out in the league is a different test. "He came in at Crewe and it was as if he had never been away. That's the biggest compliment you can pay him. He settled in well and has produced consistently good performances. "Our injury situation is relatively good at the moment and we've got players returning. Unfortunately for us and Rhoys, that means he will have to go back after Grimsby."
