Midfielder arrives on three-year deal

Norwich City have snapped up Stephen Hughes on a three-year deal following his departure from Motherwell. A number of clubs expressed an interest in the Scottish midfielder when it emerged at the end of last season that he was set to leave Fir Park. The Canaries have now won the chase for his signature and manager Bryan Gunn is thrilled to have made his fifth signing of the summer. "We're delighted Stephen has chosen to join Norwich City," Gunn told the club's official website. "He had a number of options open to him and rightly spoke to his family and friends before making his decision. "We faced stiff competition from clubs in the Championship, Scottish Premier League and also the Bundesliga." Hughes started his career at Rangers before having a two-year spell in England with Leicester and then joining Motherwell in 2007.
