The 26-year-old could make a permanent switch to the Amsterdam ArenA should he impress in his trial spell at the club.

Colin worked alongside current Ajax coach Henk Ten Cate during his loan spell with NAC Breda in 2005.

And the former PSV Eindhoven defender could earn himself a four-year contract with the Dutch giants should his trial spell go well.

Meanwhile, Ajax have extended young midfielder Jeffrey Sarpong's contract until 2011.

The 18-year-old, a product of the club's youth academy, made his first team debut against FC Eindhoven in a Cup tie.

The youngster has now penned a four-year deal at the Amsterdam ArenA after impressing connections at the club.
