Ipswich Town have secured the future of starlet Dean Bowditch on a new long-term contract.

The 18-year-old striker, who has already been linked with Liverpool, made his first-team debut two years ago.

Big things are expected of the England youth star and Ipswich have moved to tie him down to a new deal.

"Like all Town fans I am delighted that Dean has pledged his future to Ipswich Town," said Town chairman David Sheepshanks.

"It shows our determination and commitment to secure our best young talents for the long-term benefits of this football club.

"Dean has developed through our highly successful academy system and we can now look forward to him progressing as a footballer for Ipswich Town over the next three-and-a-half years."
