Transfer news: Stephen Dobbie's Crystal Palace future in hands of Tony Pulis

Stephen Dobbie is back at Crystal Palace, but acknowledges that Tony Pulis will determine how long he stays.

The 31-year-old forward made just one appearance for Palace last season before being allowed to return to Bloomfield Road for a third loan spell at Blackpool.

With there no permanent deal to be done with the Seasiders, Dobbie will spend pre-season at Selhurst Park.

He is, however, aware that he faces fierce competition for places at Palace from the likes of Marouane Chamakh, Glenn Murray and Dwight Gayle.

Dobbie will do all he can to convince Pulis that he is worth keeping on, but appreciates that he could be on the move again before the summer is out.

He told Palace’s official website after netting four goals in a friendly date with GAK Graz: “I won’t get carried away.

“It was our first game against an Austrian local team, so I’ll take it for what it is, train as hard as I can and see what the manager thinks after that.

“Obviously the final decision is up to him, but I’ll just keep working hard, as I’ve done this week, and see what happens.

“It was a good performance, a professional performance, from the lads. This week was all about fitness and getting confidence for tougher games so the boys will take that into the trip to America next week.

“To go and get that amount of goals and see the strikers hit the net is always important.”
