Hammond says there is no pressure to sell winger

Nick Hammond insists Reading are under no pressure to sell Jimmy Kebe after offering the winger a new contract at the Madejski Stadium. Kebe's present deal expires at the end of the season and he has been offered a two-and-a-half year extension by the Royals. However, the 27-year-old is attracting interest from Reading's Championship rivals, with Leicester City keen and West Ham United reported to have already had a bid rejected. Royals boss Brian McDermott had previously appeared pessimistic about the prospects of Kebe prolonging his time with the club. Director of football Hammond, though, remains determined to keep Kebe and is not looking to sell the wide-man during the January transfer window. "We don't want Jimmy to leave. There is no pressure on us for us to sell him," said Hammond. "We have offered him a new deal and we want him to stay."
