Skysports.com understands Manchester City defender Ryan McGivern is poised to join Crystal Palace on an initial one-month loan deal.
The 21-year-old spent part of the last campaign at Walsall after agreeing a season-long deal, but he was recalled to City in January.
McGivern will now again leave City on a temporary basis in order to build experience away from the Etihad Stadium.
The Northern Ireland international, who scored in City's 2-0 win over Club America in July, has also spent time on loan at Morecambe and Leicester during his career.
Palace begin their new Championship campaign away at Peterborough on Saturday.
