Poyet happy to add striker to his squad

Brighton & Hove Albion have brought in Plymouth Argyle striker Ashley Barnes on loan until the end of the season. Barnes has recently completed a month-long spell at Torquay United and will help to fill the gap created by Nicky Forster's exit to Charlton Athletic. Seagulls boss Gus Poyet has been tracking Barnes and is happy to add the 20-year-old to his squad for the run-in. "Ashley is a player that we have been watching for some time and we think he has the qualities as a striker that we are looking for," Poyet told the club's official website. "He will give us something different in attack. He is young, strong and holds the ball up well, and will be a good target man for us to play off. "Ashley will be a great addition to the squad following Nicky's departure, and we think we will then have the right combination of strikers that we need."
