Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman believes Kagisho Dikgacoi picked up tips from playing against Brazil at the weekend after his classy goal sealed a 1-0 win over Charlton.

Luck

It meant Palace secured back-to-back wins - a far cry from three defeats in their first three matches - but Freedman admitted luck was on their side for a change. "Sometimes they go for you, sometimes they don't," said Freedman. "Darcy slipped over to make it onside but you are talking inches. We rode our luck but we were in a derby match and sometimes you have to. "We also rode our luck a bit with the goalkeeper's header - he's obviously been practising those, and two or three weeks ago that would have hit the back of the net." Addicks boss Chris Powell revealed the assistant referee apologised to him afterwards for the offside decision. "It wasn't to be for us," he said. "Palace started well, but we grew into the game and the turning point was a disallowed goal that should have stood. "We had a couple cleared off the line as well. Palace had their chances and it was a well-taken goal, but it just didn't happen for us. "To be fair to the assistant he came into my room and apologised. It doesn't do us much good though."
