Alexander weighs up options

Neil Alexander is considering offers from some English and Scottish clubs.

Former Cardiff goalkeeper Neil Alexander is considering offers from some English and Scottish clubs.

Alexander is available on a free transfer after leaving Cardiff earlier this summer.

The Scottish international's agent, Andy Evans admitted several Championship sides and a few SPL teams were chasing Alexander.

"Neil (Alexander) has had several offers from Championship clubs and some in Scotland," said Evans.

"But there is no immediate rush and he wants to be certain his decision now is the right one."

Meanwhile, Cardiff striker Steve Thompson could miss the start of the season through injury.

The Scottish international, who is on the transfer list at Ninian Park, suffered a groin injury on holiday and he has been forced to undergo surgery.

Cardiff are unsure how long the injury will keep Thompson on the sidelines for.

"It is not known at the current time how long Steve will be out," read a statement on the club's official website.
