Swansea City have taken Cardiff City goalkeeper Mark Howard on a month's loan.
Swansea City have taken goalkeeper Mark Howard on a month's loan from Welsh neighbours Cardiff City.The former Arsenal custodian arrives at The Liberty Stadium as cover for the injured Andy Oakes, who is struggling with a knee problem.
Howard will look to make the most of his four weeks with The Swans, having made just one appearance in the Carling Cup for Cardiff.
With Neil Alexander the current number one at Ninian Park, Howard has taken the opportunity to earn regular first-team action with the League One club, having played on loan in Scotland with Falkirk last season.
"Everything happened so quickly,'' Howard told Swansea's official website.
"I was only asked about going on loan at 9.45am this (Friday) morning and an hour later, I was down training with Swansea.
"I didn't have any hesitation in signing. As a young keeper, it's important for me to get as much experience as possible and take my chance if it comes.
"I enjoyed training with the Swansea lads this morning. In fairness, they didn't give me much stick - well, not yet anyway!"
Howard will be in the Swansea squad that host Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
