Small deal for Owls

Sheffield Wednesday have signed Milton Keynes Dons' Wade Small.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Paul Sturrock has started his summer strengthening plans with the signing of Milton Keynes Dons' Wade Small.

The young winger joins the Championship club for an undisclosed fee and has signed a three-year contract.

The 22-year-old leaves the Buckinghamshire outfit after making 115 appearances, having come through MK Dons' youth ranks.

Sturrock was delighted with the capture of Small, with the Scot claiming his versatility is sure to be an asset for the South Yorkshire side.

"I've seen Wade several times over the last couple of years and he's our type of signing," Sturrock told the club's official website.

"He is very quick, can play in a variety of positions offensively and has high potential."

The news comes as The Owls have signed youngsters Rory McArdle, Sean McAllister and Tommy Spurr to new one-year contracts at Hillsborough.
