Chairman confirms out-of-contract player departures

Coventry are set to show out-of-contract players Clinton Morrison, Dimi Konstantopoulos and Stephen Wright the exit door after failing to agree new deals. New manager Aidy Boothroyd, who replaced Chris Coleman at the Ricoh Arena last month, appears to want a fresh start with his squad, confirming that he would not be renewing the terms of any player who is out of contract. Morrison finished the previous two campaigns in the Championship as the club's top goalscorer, but the experienced striker appears to be surplus to requirements, with Boothroyd looking to stamp his own mark on the Sky Blues. Goalkeeper Konstantopoulos, who signed for the club in 2007, has often found himself out on loan in order to gain first team football, and has struggled to make the starting line-up due to the form of Keiren Westwood. Wright, the club captain, has also not seen his contract renewed, leaving the former Liverpool full-back free to look for another club, despite being a regular starter in the first team. "None of the out-of-contract players are being offered new deals and have all been spoken to by the manager out of courtesy." Chairman Ray Ranson told the Coventry Telegraph.
