Full-back unhappy under manager Boothroyd

Colchester defender Matt Lockwood has issued a 'come and get me plea' to any interested clubs. The 33-year-old full-back has only made a handful of appearances for the Us so far this season and has had two loan spells at Barnet and Dagenham & Redbridge. Lockwood admits that he has been frozen out by Colchester manager Aidy Boothroyd and that he is hoping to leave during the January transfer window. "Nothing has changed since I left for Dagenham and I am not in the manager's plans at all, so it is just a case of working hard in training and keeping myself fit in case someone comes in for me during the current transfer window," he told skysports.com.

Ready to go

"I'm ready to go to a new club right now and I'm just hoping that someone comes in for me. "A lot of people reckon I am injury-prone, but I have been injury-free for over a year now and I'm just not getting a chance due to manager's preference here. "I'm no different to anyone else in respect to the fact that I want to get my long-term future sorted as soon as I can, which means that I would prefer a permanent deal somewhere. "But if a loan move is what I am offered then I would grasp that instead because it offers me a way out. "I don't mind moving up north to play my football or elsewhere, as long as I can get thing sorted as soon as possible." The former Leyton Orient stalwart signed for Colchester in June 2008 and his contract expires at the end of the season.
